Arrival in Caracas – Airport to Hotel (30 km | 45–60 min)

Upon arrival in Caracas, meet your driver and transfer to your hotel. The drive passes along the Caribbean coastline and into the city. Check in at the Buenavista Inn, a quiet and comfortable boutique hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax and recover from your journey.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport and board your domestic flight to San Cristóbal, located in Venezuela’s green Andean foothills. Upon arrival, a short transfer brings you to your hotel. Enjoy the cooler climate and relaxed pace of this charming mountain city.

Today is open for independent discovery. San Cristóbal is surrounded by coffee areas, small villages, and scenic mountain roads. You may explore the city, enjoy local markets, or relax in cafés while taking in the Andean atmosphere.

Another flexible day to enjoy the region at your own pace. Optional activities may include nature walks, cultural visits, or short excursions into the surrounding valleys. This region remains largely untouched by mass tourism.

Travel south through spectacular Andean scenery toward Mérida, Venezuela’s outdoor capital. The road winds through cloud forests, high valleys, and traditional villages. Upon arrival, check in at Posada Guamanchi, a cozy guesthouse with mountain views.

Leave Mérida by 4×4 vehicle and climb deep into the Sierra Nevada National Park. Reach the remote village of Los Nevados at 2,700 meters. Stone houses, horses, and mule paths define daily life here. Spend the afternoon exploring the village and acclimatizing to the altitude.

Begin a full-day trek through Venezuela’s high‑Andean páramo. Accompanied by a mule that carries gear, you hike across wide valleys, glacial lakes, and alpine grasslands, reaching elevations of up to 4,200 meters.
The silence, fresh air, and dramatic mountain scenery create a powerful sense of isolation and beauty. Overnight in a rustic mountain camp under the stars.

Today’s hike descends through a completely different ecosystem. Alpine terrain slowly gives way to lush cloud forest, filled with orchids, moss, and birdlife. After several hours of hiking, a vehicle transfers you back to Mérida. Evening at leisure.

Depart early for the journey into the Venezuelan Llanos, where mountains fade into endless savannah. Arrive at Hato El Cedral, one of the country’s most famous wildlife reserves.
In the afternoon, enjoy your first safari drive, spotting capybaras, caimans, deer, and countless birds.

Spend the day immersed in the wild Llanos. Morning safari across flooded plains and grasslands in search of anacondas, monkeys, giant anteaters, and birds.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip along the Matiyure River, ideal for birdwatching and photography. End the day with a traditional caiman observation and sunset over the savannah.

Start the day with an optional early walk to observe wildlife at sunrise. After breakfast, travel to Barinas, passing cattle ranches and rural landscapes. Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy a relaxed final evening.

Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Caracas, marking the end of an unforgettable journey through Venezuela’s Andes and Llanos.
